Make a difference at Westonbirt...

There are many ways you can make a change for good at Westonbirt Arboretum. With 15,000 trees to care for and protect, every little bit makes a positive contribution to the future of Westonbirt as well as our planet.

Our charity not only supports the trees but also the people who come to visit. Whether visitors take part in events, trails and guided tours or simply wander around the arboretum using the navigation signs or maps, the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum directly contributes to these activities which provide enjoyment and education to all.

We also fundraise for special projects, such as the Biffa Award Welcome Building and Stihl Treetop Walkway, which are considered architectural highlights amongst the trees for many people. We have just finished fundraising for a Quarantine House to adapt and tackle the global challenges we face when sourcing new seeds and are looking forward to seeing this project as well as the Coppice Shelter and Community Shelter come to life over the coming months.

Being part of Westonbirt's story

The Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum charity was set up in 1985 when a small group of Westonbirt enthusiasts decided they wanted to help preserve and develop this unique landscape.

Our vision is to support Westonbirt to be a world leader in trees, inspiring people through education, participation and conservation.

Our mission is to support Westonbirt to connect people with trees to improve the quality of life.

Our charitable aims are to further public enjoyment and knowledge of this world renowned tree collection and to secure its sustainable future. We do this by engaging, informing and increasing membership and also by giving financial and practical support to the management and development of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum.
