The Paperbark maple, Acer griseum is very distinctive due to its flaky-like bark and colour.
Earlier this month, National Heritage Lottery Fund announced that Westonbirt would be among 433 organisations in England who will receive a share of £67 million from the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage.

Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) has today published The Red List of Acer: revised and extended giving the conservation status of all 158 maple or Acer species.
We are rapidly approaching our favourite time of year when our trees are at their most vibrant and colourful but ensuring that these magnificent plants continue for future generations to enjoy is a mammoth task.
